Private label effervescent products for importers in West Africa

FIZZPHARMA makes effervescent tablets in tubes, drink cubes in blisters and powder sachets under your brand in the European Union for importers in Senegal, Côte d'Ivoire and Ghana. Tablets and sachets take from 4 weeks. Every batch ships with a Certificate of Analysis and a specification, and your importer files the registration.

The table was reviewed on 9 to 13 October 2026. WHO's list of stability conditions (March 2021) is written for medicines, so for supplements it is a reference and not law. Square brackets mark an estimate by the International Federation of Pharmaceutical Manufacturers and Associations (IFPMA), which your importer confirms with the regulator. Other West African markets: name the country in your enquiry, because FIZZPHARMA delivers worldwide, Africa included.

What documents does an importer in West Africa need from an EU supplement manufacturer?

FIZZPHARMA gives the importer a Certificate of Analysis and a specification with every batch, and copies of the site certificates on request. The Certificate of Free Sale, the Certificate of Manufacture and the consular legalisation are arranged where the country of sale asks for them. The importer, or in Ghana the product owner or licence holder, files the registration.

The site certificates are ISO 22000:2018, GMP and HACCP, issued by BM Certification. Copies with their numbers go to your importer on request, and each paper is described on certificates and batch documents. Send the list your importer has received from the authority with your enquiry; the reply, within 24 hours, Monday to Friday, states how each paper is arranged.

What does Ghana's Food and Drugs Authority ask of a supplement manufacturer?

The product owner or licence holder files with the authority, certificates in the file are in English, and samples come in the final packaging. Stability studies follow WHO zone IVb conditions in the pack marketed in Ghana, with six months of accelerated testing at 40 °C and 75% relative humidity.

These points come from the authority's guideline for food, nutritional and dietary supplements, FDA/HMD/GL-FS/2012/01, issued on 1 March 2013; ask your importer whether it is still in force. Under it, a representative of a licence holder may not apply unless it owns the product. The long-term study runs to the end of the shelf life. The authority may also audit the manufacturing site at its discretion, for a fee, and visits to the production site are possible.

A white label or private label product made for your brand is made under contract. For such a product the file carries evidence of the contract, and the label and the package insert state it; the guideline does not say in what words. The manufacturing site is named in the documents for your importer. Agree the wording with your importer before you approve the artwork.

Which language goes on the label for Senegal and Côte d'Ivoire: French?

French is the official language of Senegal and Côte d'Ivoire. FIZZPHARMA designs the label and the pack, or checks yours, and prints them at the plant in the language of the country of sale, after your importer confirms the mandatory text and you approve the artwork.

In French the formal term is "comprimés effervescents", and buyers also search for "marque blanche" when they mean white label. Ghana's certificates are in English, so a range sold in Ghana and in Senegal needs two artwork versions, each approved by you.

Which authority handles supplements in Côte d'Ivoire and Senegal?

In Côte d'Ivoire, Koaci (17 September 2026) and Fratmat (16 September 2026) reported that supplements are among the products overseen by the Autorité ivoirienne de régulation pharmaceutique (AIRP), which regulates pharmaceutical and other health products. The same reports describe a declaration campaign for health products from October 2024 to December 2025. Your importer confirms whether an imported supplement needs an authorisation of its own.

In Senegal your importer confirms the authority. Senegal has been a party to the Apostille Convention since 23 March 2023, so an apostille is available. An apostille works between two parties unless one has objected to the other's accession, and objections to Senegal's accession are recorded, so your importer confirms the route for your documents.

Is West Africa one climate zone for effervescent tablets, and which pack does each format use?

No. WHO's list, written for medicines, gives Ghana 30 °C/75% RH (zone IVb), while for Côte d'Ivoire and Senegal it shows only an IFPMA estimate of 30 °C/65% RH, which your importer confirms with the regulator. For effervescent tablets the pack is a tube with a moisture-absorbing cap, because the formula reacts with moisture.

  • Effervescent tablets: a plastic tube with a moisture-absorbing cap; 20 tablets of 4 g to the tube; the brand is printed on the tube at the plant.
  • Drink cubes: each cube sealed in its own blister with foil; the brand goes on the foil and the outer box.
  • Powder sachets: a paper, aluminium foil and sealable film laminate; the brand is printed directly on the paper layer; 4 to 12 g to the sachet.

The stability study belongs to the registration file. If the pack changes after it, ask your importer what the authority then expects. Each extra week at a port or in a warehouse adds exposure, so the route and the storage go into the brief.

How is an order delivered to West Africa?

Delivery is EXW by default, with FCA or DAP on request; with DAP the goods are delivered to your address and you pay the duties. Production, from 4 weeks for effervescent tablets and sachets, does not include transport and customs, which come on top.

FIZZPHARMA works with buyers worldwide, and delivery is worldwide. Agree the term with your importer and your forwarder, and state it in the enquiry. The lead time for drink cubes is given in the reply to your enquiry.

Frequently asked questions

What documents does an importer in Senegal or Côte d'Ivoire need from an EU supplement manufacturer?

FIZZPHARMA provides a Certificate of Analysis and a specification with every batch, and copies of the site certificates on request. It arranges the Certificate of Free Sale, the Certificate of Manufacture, the apostille and the consular legalisation where the country asks for them.

Does the label for Senegal and Côte d'Ivoire have to be in French?

French is the official language of both, and your importer confirms the label rule for a supplement. FIZZPHARMA designs the label or checks yours and prints it at the plant in the language of the country of sale.

Which authority handles supplements in Côte d'Ivoire?

Koaci reported on 17 September 2026 that it is the Autorité ivoirienne de régulation pharmaceutique (AIRP), which oversees pharmaceutical and other health products. Your importer confirms whether an imported supplement needs its own authorisation, and who files.

Who files the registration in Ghana?

The product owner or licence holder files with Ghana's Food and Drugs Authority. FIZZPHARMA supplies the batch documents, the site certificates and the printed pack for the file, and the approval is the authority's decision.

What stability data does Ghana ask for?

Data under WHO zone IVb conditions, in the container closure system in which the product is marketed in Ghana, including six months of accelerated testing at 40 °C and 75% relative humidity. Your importer or the licence holder confirms what the file needs from FIZZPHARMA.

Does a Ghana label have to say the product is made under contract?

Yes. The guideline asks for evidence of the contract and for the label and the package insert to state it, without saying in what words. Agree the wording with your importer before you approve the FIZZPHARMA artwork.

Does an apostille work for Ghana, Côte d'Ivoire and Senegal?

Ghana and Côte d'Ivoire are not parties to the Apostille Convention, and objections to Senegal's accession are recorded. FIZZPHARMA arranges the apostille and the consular legalisation where the country of sale asks for them; your importer confirms the route.

Does FIZZPHARMA supply West Africa?

FIZZPHARMA delivers worldwide, Africa included, and the production group behind it works with buyers worldwide. Delivery is EXW by default, with FCA or DAP on request.

How long does production take, and what comes on top?

Production of effervescent tablets and sachets at FIZZPHARMA takes from 4 weeks, on a ready-made formula or your own. Transport and customs come on top, and the lead time for drink cubes is given in the reply to your enquiry.

Is halal certification available for West African markets?

Yes, where your market needs it. FIZZPHARMA arranges a halal certificate for each batch of your product, either through a visit by a certifying company or with an auditor present at the production of the batch.

Can I get a sample or visit the plant before ordering?

Yes. A sample before an order is available for products already in production, and visits to the production site are possible. Ask for either in your enquiry, with the country of sale.
