What are electrolyte tablets?
Electrolyte tablets are tablets, plain or effervescent, whose formula is built on mineral salts such as sodium, potassium, magnesium and calcium. Several of the ready-made formulas in FIZZPHARMA's list also contain vitamin C. On a label the product is described by this composition, and a health claim is allowed only when it is authorised under Regulation (EC) 1924/2006.
In a private label range an electrolyte product is a formula and a form. Each ready-made formula comes in its own form; a formula in another form is developed to your brief. The form sets the minimum order, the production time and the surface for your brand.
Which ready-made electrolyte formulas can a brand launch?
The plant's catalogue lists electrolyte formulas as an effervescent tablet, a tablet and powders in zip-lock bags; the full list is sent on request. A ready-made formula is available to other brands as well; a formula developed to your brief is made for your brand, and the terms are set in our reply.
| Form | Composition as listed | Pack | Minimum order | Production time |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Effervescent tablet | Listed in the plant's catalogue as “Effervescent Electrolytes (Sodium 270mg, Potassium 100mg, Magnesium 25mg, Calcium 15mg, Vit C 40mg)” | Given in our reply | Given in our reply | Given in our reply |
| Tablet | Sodium, potassium, chloride, calcium, magnesium | Given in our reply | Given in our reply | Given in our reply |
| Powder | Sodium, magnesium citrate, calcium citrate, potassium citrate, vitamin C, chloride | Zip-lock bag | From 300 kg of finished blend | Given in our reply |
| Powder | Sodium, potassium citrate, chloride, calcium carbonate, vitamin C, magnesium citrate | Zip-lock bag | From 300 kg of finished blend | Given in our reply |
The compositions are shown as they stand in the plant's catalogue; the dose per tablet, the pack and the full list are confirmed in our reply.
How are electrolyte tablets made?
An effervescent tablet is pressed on the plant's tablet press; why effervescent tablets are packed in tubes with a desiccant cap is explained on effervescent tablets in tubes, and the pack for an electrolyte formula is given in our reply. A powder is a finished blend filled into a zip-lock bag. The sachet, a separate format of the plant, uses a laminate with an aluminium foil layer as a barrier.
The order of work is the same for every form: enquiry, sample, approval of the sample, approval of the label, production, printing and packing, delivery.
Electrolyte tablets or powders for private label: which is better?
Neither in general; the form follows how you sell the dose. A tablet is a counted portion; a powder is sold by weight, from 300 kg of finished blend; a sachet is a single serving of powder.
| Form | One serving | Minimum order counted in | Where your brand goes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Effervescent tablet | One tablet; the dose per tablet is confirmed in our reply | Given in our reply | The pack, printed by the plant |
| Powder in a zip-lock bag | Given in our reply | Kilograms, from 300 kg | A label prepared with you and approved before printing |
| Sachet | 4 to 12 g; 50 to 60 mm wide, 60 to 110 mm tall | Kilograms, from 300 kg | Printed straight on the paper layer of the laminate; no separate label |
The sachet and the tube have their own pages: powder sachets and effervescent tablets in tubes. All minimums are on minimum order and lead time.
How do I start an electrolyte brand?
In five stages, from the formula to the first delivery.
- Choose the formula. A ready-made electrolyte formula from the plant's catalogue, or a brief for a formula of your own. Its form comes with it.
- Name the country of sale. Your importer confirms the label rules of the country of sale.
- Approve the sample. For a ready-made formula you receive a sample of the existing product; for your own, a sample is developed to your brief.
- Approve the label. The label artwork is prepared with you, and FIZZPHARMA prints only the version you approve.
- Receive the batch. It ships with a CoA and a specification; for export, with a Certificate of Free Sale and a Certificate of Manufacture where the country asks for them.
The comparison of the forms by serving weight, first order and lead time is in the article electrolyte private label: sachet, tube or cube.
What your choice decides
Each choice fixes part of the order. The table shows what it costs you in run size, time or risk, not in money.
| Your choice | What changes | What it costs you |
|---|---|---|
| An effervescent tablet | A counted portion; the pack is given in our reply | Run and time: given in our reply |
| A powder in a zip-lock bag | A pack with a label prepared with you | Run: from 300 kg. Time: given in our reply |
| A sachet | A single serving of 4 to 12 g with your brand on the laminate; whether an electrolyte formula suits it is confirmed in our reply | Run: from 300 kg, so the serving sets the number of sachets |
| A formula developed to your brief | A sample developed to your brief; the formula is made for your brand and the terms are set in our reply | Time: development before production. Risk: a change after approval means a new sample |
