What is in one tablet?
Two minerals share the tablet in equal weights. The table shows each amount against its own reference value. The specification sent with the offer names the mineral compounds, the excipients and the flavour.
| Per tablet (4 g) | Amount | % NRV* |
|---|---|---|
| Magnesium | 250 mg | 67 % |
| Potassium | 250 mg | 13 % |
*NRV: nutrient reference value, Regulation (EU) No 1169/2011, Annex XIII.
Why do 250 mg of magnesium and 250 mg of potassium show different percentages?
The two minerals have different reference values. Each percentage is worked out against its own: magnesium reaches 67 % and potassium 13 %. The same weight in the tablet therefore gives a different figure on each line of the label.
The label artwork carries the amount and the % NRV of each mineral, as in the table above. Your importer checks the amounts against the national rules of the market.
What does the label of this formula need to carry?
Two minerals of equal weight still make two separate declarations, so the label handles each one on its own line.
- Fixed lines. Under Directive 2002/46/EC, Article 6 the pack states "food supplement" as the name, the categories of nutrients that characterise the product, the recommended daily dose and a warning not to exceed it, then two statements: supplements are not a substitute for a varied diet, and they are kept out of the reach of young children.
- Amounts. Magnesium and potassium are given per daily dose and as a % of the Annex XIII reference values of Regulation (EU) No 1169/2011 (Directive 2002/46/EC, Article 8). On one tablet a day the label reads 250 mg and 67 % for magnesium, and 250 mg and 13 % for potassium.
- National maximums. The EU leaves the maximums for minerals in supplements unharmonised, and several member states set their own (Directive 2002/46/EC, Articles 5 and 11(2)); your importer checks both minerals against the market.
- Sorbitol. The tablet is on a sorbitol base. If added polyols exceed 10 % of the product, the label states "excessive consumption may produce laxative effects" (Regulation (EU) No 1169/2011, Annex III, point 2.4), and the specification of your formula settles the line.
Can the formula, flavour or pack change?
Other brands can buy the ready-made formula too, and the sample is the finished product from the plant. For different amounts of either mineral, FIZZPHARMA develops a formula to your brief. A sample comes first, and you approve the label after it. A formula developed for your brand is made for your brand.
The sample shows the flavour, and the full specification comes with the offer. The tube with a desiccant cap is the standard pack, and packaging of your own is taken on request, with its specification sent in with the enquiry.
Which documents and markets come with this formula?
A CoA and a specification are issued with each batch after the laboratory has checked it. With them, and with copies of the site certificates that FIZZPHARMA sends on request, your importer files the registration in the destination country.
Export papers are arranged for your market. Halal, if the market requires it, is arranged per batch of your product in one of two ways. A certifying company visits, or an auditor attends the production of the batch. See certificates and CoA and minimum order and lead time. The general terms for tablets in tubes are on effervescent tablets in tubes.
Frequently asked questions
How much magnesium and potassium are in one effervescent tablet?
A FIZZPHARMA tablet of 4 g holds 250 mg of magnesium (67 % of the nutrient reference value) and 250 mg of potassium (13 %). The reference values come from Regulation (EU) No 1169/2011, Annex XIII.
Can I order a tablet with magnesium and no potassium?
Yes, as another formula. The plant's list has a ready-made magnesium tablet with vitamin B6. A formula of your own is developed to your brief, with a sample for you to approve before the label.
Which compounds are the magnesium and potassium taken from?
The catalogue entry gives the two minerals by their amounts. The full specification, with the mineral compounds and the excipients, comes from FIZZPHARMA when it answers your enquiry.
Do the national maximums for minerals matter for this tablet?
Yes. Maximums for minerals in supplements are not harmonised in the EU. The importer in each country checks the amounts against its own rules before registration and before the artwork is final.
What is the minimum order for these tablets?
A low number of tubes of 20 tablets. FIZZPHARMA states the figure for this formula in a reply that arrives in 24 hours on working days.
How soon can the first tubes ship?
FIZZPHARMA's production takes from 4 weeks, counted from approval of the sample and the label. Freight and customs follow on top; the default term is EXW, with FCA or DAP on agreement.
How long do the tablets keep?
24 months is the FIZZPHARMA standard. The least stable ingredient sets it, the CoA of each batch confirms it, and the desiccant cap in the tube guards the tablets against moisture.
Is a halal certificate available for this formula?
Yes, if your market requires it. FIZZPHARMA arranges the certificate batch by batch for your product, through a certifying company's visit or with an auditor present at production.
