What is in one vitamin D3 4000 IU effervescent tablet?

One 4 g tablet contains 100 µg of vitamin D3, the same as 4000 IU, and that is 2000 % of the nutrient reference value. It is a single-nutrient formula. The dose is the one in the catalogue entry. The specification sent with the offer lists excipients and flavour.

Per tablet (4 g)Amount% NRV*

*NRV = nutrient reference value, Regulation (EU) No 1169/2011, Annex XIII, Part A.

What does the label of this formula need to carry?

For a high vitamin D3 dose the destination market decides more than the label template does, so the points below take the unit first and the maximum next.

  • Article 6 particulars. The label of a food supplement under Directive 2002/46/EC, Article 6 carries the name "food supplement", the category of nutrient that characterises the product (vitamin D3), the recommended daily dose, a warning not to exceed it, a statement that supplements are no substitute for a varied diet, and a statement that they are kept out of the reach of young children.
  • µg on the label, IU beside it. Article 8 requires the amount per daily dose and as a % of the Annex XIII value of Regulation (EU) No 1169/2011, which for vitamin D is 5 µg. Annex XIII works in micrograms, so 100 µg is the figure on the artwork and 4000 IU the equivalent; one tablet reads 2000 %.
  • The maximum is set by the country. Vitamin D3 at 4000 IU is the figure to check first. The EU has not yet harmonised maximums for vitamins in supplements, and several member states set their own (Article 5): your importer confirms whether one tablet fits the national maximum, and the daily dose printed on the label follows that answer. FIZZPHARMA supplies the specification and CoA for the check.
  • Sorbitol. The base of the tablet is sorbitol. Where added polyols make up more than 10 % of the product, the label states "excessive consumption may produce laxative effects" (Regulation (EU) No 1169/2011, Annex III, point 2.4), and the specification of your formula settles whether the line applies.

Can the formula, flavour or pack change?

Yes. Other brands can buy the ready-made formula. A different D3 dose, or D3 with other nutrients, is a formula developed to your brief. FIZZPHARMA builds a sample. You approve it and then the label, and production takes from 4 weeks. A formula developed for your brand is made for your brand.

If your market needs another D3 level, ready-made formulas exist: vitamin D3 25 µg (1000 IU) with vitamin C and zinc and vitamin D3 from an algal source. The same 4000 IU is in vitamin D3 with vitamin K2. The flavour belongs to the specification and the sample shows it. The tablet stays in a tube with a desiccant cap; see effervescent tube packaging. The terms for all tablets in tubes are on effervescent tablets in tubes.

Which documents come with it, and which markets can it go to?

A CoA and a specification are issued for each batch once the laboratory has checked it. ISO 22000, GMP and HACCP certificates of the site are sent as copies on request. For export, FIZZPHARMA arranges a Certificate of Free Sale and a Certificate of Manufacture. Where the destination needs it, apostille or consular legalisation is added.

A halal certificate is arranged for each batch of your product, either through a certifying company's visit or with an auditor attending production. Delivery is worldwide, EXW as the default and FCA or DAP on agreement. Name the destination country in your first message, since the permitted vitamin D3 amount can differ by market. Your importer then files the registration with the specification, CoA and certificates from FIZZPHARMA. See certificates and CoA and minimum order and lead time.

Frequently asked questions

How many micrograms is 4000 IU of vitamin D3?

100 µg. Annex XIII of Regulation (EU) No 1169/2011 states vitamin D in micrograms, so 100 µg is the label figure and 4000 IU the equivalent.

Why does the label show 2000 % NRV?

The reference value for vitamin D is 5 µg, and 100 µg is twenty times that, which is 2000 %. The label states the percentage for the daily dose you set.

Can a 4000 IU tablet be sold in every country?

The maximum for vitamins in food supplements is set by each country, not harmonised across the EU, so the answer is market by market. Your importer checks it; FIZZPHARMA gives the specification and CoA, and a lower dose can be developed to your brief.

Is there a lower dose of vitamin D3 in a ready-made tablet?

Yes, two of them: 25 µg (1000 IU) in vitamin C, zinc and vitamin D3 and in vitamin D3 from an algal source.

Who makes white label vitamin D3 4000 IU effervescent tablets?

FIZZPHARMA does, in the European Union, from a ready-made formula of 100 µg (4000 IU) per 4 g tablet. Formulation, production, laboratory control, printing and packing are done in-house. Each tube takes 20 tablets, with a desiccant cap and your brand. Production takes from 4 weeks. A formula developed for your brand is made for your brand.

What minimum order do I need?

Low, and counted in tubes, with reorders starting from the same quantity. The reply to your enquiry, in 24 hours on working days, names the figure for this tablet.

How long do the tablets keep, and how are they protected?

FIZZPHARMA's standard shelf life is 24 months, confirmed in the CoA of each batch. A desiccant cap on the plastic tube guards the tablets, because the formula reacts with moisture.

Can I get a sample first?

Yes: FIZZPHARMA has the formula in production, so the sample is the finished tablet. Your order goes into production after you approve the sample and the label.
