How big is EU trade with Latin America under the customs code that covers supplements?

EU-27 exports under customs code CN 210690 to ten Latin American countries were worth about EUR 589 million in 2025, up 5% from EUR 559 million in 2023 (Eurostat Comext). Mexico took EUR 189 million, Chile 92, Colombia 59 and Peru 58. The code is wider than food supplements, so it is a ceiling, not the size of effervescent sales.

What do importers in Mexico, Colombia and Chile search for when they look for a manufacturer?

Spanish-language buyers search for a manufacturer with the words maquila (contract manufacturing), marca blanca (white label) and mayoreo (wholesale). On 18 October 2026 Google's autocomplete returned "maquila suplementos alimenticios" with Chile, Mexico and Colombia, "electrolitos en polvo mayoreo", "sobres de electrolitos mayoreo" and "tabletas de electrolitos efervescentes".

FIZZPHARMA's formats answer those phrases: an effervescent tablet in a tube, electrolyte formulas as an effervescent tablet, a tablet or a powder, and powder sachets of 4 to 12 g. White label, from a ready-made formula, and private label, from a formula of your own, are both available. See electrolyte products under your brand and powder sachets under your brand.

Buyers who write in Spanish also ask how to bring supplements in from Europe. Google suggests "importar suplementos alimenticios desde europa a colombia" and "a argentina". The next section covers what comes from the manufacturer's side.

What documents does an importer in Mexico or Colombia need from an EU manufacturer?

FIZZPHARMA gives the importer a Certificate of Analysis and a specification with every batch and copies of the site certificates on request, and arranges the Certificate of Free Sale, the Certificate of Manufacture, the apostille and the consular legalisation where the file asks for them. Your importer holds the registration.

Each country has its own authority and its own list of papers. Send your importer's list with the enquiry; the reply states how each paper is arranged. The papers are described on certificates and batch documents.

Can the label and the pack be in Spanish?

FIZZPHARMA designs the label and the pack, or checks yours, and prints them at the plant in the language of the country of sale, which is Spanish in Mexico, Colombia, Chile, Peru and Argentina. The label is laid out to the text your importer confirms, and nothing is printed before you approve the artwork.

Name the country of sale in your enquiry before the artwork is laid out. Two countries sharing one pack need both importers to confirm the text. Put the product name in the Spanish your market uses: buyers write "tabletas efervescentes" and "efervescente".

How is an order delivered to Latin America: EXW, FCA or DAP?

Delivery is EXW by default, with FCA or DAP on request; with DAP the goods are delivered to your address and you pay the duties. The production time, from 4 weeks for effervescent tablets and sachets, does not include transport and customs, which come on top.

FIZZPHARMA works with buyers worldwide, and delivery is worldwide. Choose the term with your importer and your forwarder, and state it in the enquiry.

Which pack suits a long route to Latin America?

A plastic tube with a moisture-absorbing cap for effervescent tablets, because the formula reacts with moisture; a blister of its own for each drink cube; a paper, aluminium foil and film laminate for a powder sachet. Each extra week at a port or in a warehouse adds exposure, so the route and the storage go into the brief.

FIZZPHARMA prints your brand on the tube at the plant, on the foil of the cube blister and its box, and directly on the paper layer of the sachet. Ask your importer for the storage condition of the destination and of the route, and put it in the enquiry.

Frequently asked questions

Can FIZZPHARMA make private label effervescent tablets for importers in Mexico and Colombia?

Yes. FIZZPHARMA makes effervescent tablets in tubes in the European Union under your brand, from a ready-made formula or your own, and delivers worldwide. Your importer holds the registration in the country of sale.

What does maquila mean, and does FIZZPHARMA offer it?

Maquila is contract manufacturing in Latin American Spanish. FIZZPHARMA offers it as white label, from a ready-made formula, and as private label, from a formula developed for your brand, with the label printed at the plant.

Who registers the product in Mexico or Colombia?

The registration file is prepared on your importer's side with FIZZPHARMA's documents, and your importer confirms with the authority who files. FIZZPHARMA supplies the specification, the CoA and the certificates of the production site for the file, and arranges the export papers and legalisation where the country asks for them.

What documents come with each batch for a Latin American importer?

A Certificate of Analysis and a specification come with every FIZZPHARMA batch. Copies of the site's ISO 22000:2018, GMP and HACCP certificates, with their numbers, are sent on request.

Will the label be in Spanish?

The label is laid out to the text your importer confirms for the country of sale. FIZZPHARMA designs the label or checks yours, prints it at the plant, and nothing is printed before you approve the artwork.

What is the minimum order for an importer in Latin America?

The minimum depends on the format: a low minimum counted in tubes for effervescent tablets, from 300 kg of finished blend for sachets, and a minimum for each product for drink cubes. Details are on the minimum order page.

How long does production take, and how is the order shipped?

Production of effervescent tablets and sachets at FIZZPHARMA takes from 4 weeks, on a ready-made formula or your own, with transport and customs on top. Delivery is EXW by default, with FCA or DAP on request.

Can I get a sample before the first order?

Yes, for products already in production. A formula that does not exist yet is developed to your brief as a project, and you approve the sample before production. The reply to your enquiry gives the terms.

How much does the EU export to Latin America in this product group?

EU-27 exports under CN 210690 to ten Latin American countries were about EUR 589 million in 2025, of which Mexico took EUR 189 million (Eurostat Comext). The code is wider than food supplements, and FIZZPHARMA reads it as a ceiling.

Can I visit the plant before ordering?

Yes. Visits to the production site are possible, and client audits are routine practice there. Ask for a date in your enquiry.
