What is in a vitamin C, zinc and vitamin D3 effervescent tablet?
A 4 g tablet holds 1000 mg of vitamin C, 15 mg of zinc and 25 µg of vitamin D3, which is 1000 IU. Against the reference values they stand at 1250 %, 150 % and 500 %. The doses follow the catalogue entry. The specification sent with the offer lists excipients and flavour.
| Per tablet (4 g) | Amount | % NRV* |
|---|---|---|
| Vitamin C | 1000 mg | 1250 % |
| Zinc | 15 mg | 150 % |
| Vitamin D3 | 25 µg (1000 IU) | 500 % |
*NRV = nutrient reference value, Regulation (EU) No 1169/2011, Annex XIII, Part A.
What does the label of this formula need to carry?
With three nutrients on the tablet, the line for each nutrient on the label takes most of the artwork, and vitamin D3 adds a question of units: micrograms or IU.
- Article 6 particulars. Article 6 of Directive 2002/46/EC puts these on the pack: "food supplement" as the name, the categories of nutrients that characterise the product (vitamin C, zinc and vitamin D3), the recommended daily dose, a warning not to exceed it, a statement that supplements do not replace a varied diet, and a statement that they are stored out of the reach of young children.
- Three lines, three percentages. Annex XIII of Regulation (EU) No 1169/2011 gives 80 mg for vitamin C, 10 mg for zinc and 5 µg for vitamin D, and Article 8 asks for each nutrient per daily dose and as a percentage. One tablet reads 1250 %, 150 % and 500 %, and the daily dose you set moves all three.
- µg and IU in the artwork. Annex XIII states vitamin D in micrograms, so 25 µg is the figure for the label and 1000 IU is its equivalent. Whether IU is printed next to it is a decision for the market, and your importer confirms it.
- Sorbitol. The tablet is on a sorbitol base. Added polyols above 10 % of the product bring the statement "excessive consumption may produce laxative effects" (Regulation (EU) No 1169/2011, Annex III, point 2.4), and the specification of your formula settles whether it applies.
- National maximums. No EU-wide maximum exists yet for vitamins and minerals in supplements (Article 5), and several member states have national ones. The importer puts all three nutrients through that check, with the specification and CoA from FIZZPHARMA.
Can the formula, flavour or pack change?
Yes. This ready-made formula is open to other brands and has no development stage before production. To adjust a dose, drop a nutrient or add one, FIZZPHARMA builds a sample to your brief. You approve the sample, then the label, and production runs from 4 weeks. A formula developed for your brand is made for your brand.
Two neighbours are already built. Vitamin C 1000 mg with zinc 15 mg is this tablet without vitamin D3. Vitamin D3 4000 IU carries a higher D3 dose. The sample shows the flavour, a line of the specification. The pack remains a tube with a desiccant cap; see effervescent tube packaging. The terms common to all tablets are on effervescent tablets in tubes.
Which documents come with it, and how does it reach the importer?
The laboratory checks every batch, and a CoA with a specification follows. Copies of the site's ISO 22000, GMP and HACCP certificates are available on request. For export, FIZZPHARMA arranges a Certificate of Free Sale and a Certificate of Manufacture. Apostille or consular legalisation can follow where the destination calls for it.
Halal can be arranged for each batch of your product in one of two ways. A certifying company visits, or an auditor is present while the batch is produced. Delivery is worldwide, EXW unless FCA or DAP is agreed. Your importer files the registration with the specification, the CoA and the certificates that FIZZPHARMA provides. Read certificates and CoA and minimum order and lead time.
Frequently asked questions
How many IU of vitamin D3 are in this tablet?
FIZZPHARMA's tablet carries 1000 IU, which is 25 µg, or 500 % of the reference value of 5 µg. The label figure is in micrograms; IU is the equivalent.
Which of the three nutrients is checked against national maximums?
All three can be. Maximum amounts for vitamins and minerals in food supplements are not harmonised in the EU, so each member state may set its own. Your importer checks the market, and FIZZPHARMA supplies the specification and CoA for it.
What is the minimum order?
Low, and counted in tubes. Reorders start from the same quantity as the first order. The reply to your enquiry, in 24 hours on working days, gives the figure for this formula.
Can I order the tablet without zinc or without vitamin D3?
Yes. Without D3 it is the ready-made vitamin C and zinc tablet. Other combinations are developed from your brief and sampled for approval first.
Is the vitamin D3 dose adjustable?
FIZZPHARMA develops a different dose as a formula to your brief. There is also a ready-made tablet with vitamin D3 4000 IU alone, for brands that want that level on its own.
Why do three nutrients share one shelf life?
FIZZPHARMA's standard is 24 months for the whole tablet. The least stable ingredient sets that figure, each batch CoA confirms it, and the date on your pack follows the CoA.
How is the tablet packed?
FIZZPHARMA packs twenty to a plastic tube, with a desiccant in the cap because the formula reacts with moisture. The tube is printed with your brand at the production site.
Can I see a sample before ordering?
Yes. FIZZPHARMA already has the formula in production, so the sample is the finished product. Production for your order starts after the sample and the label are approved.
